Day 10 B - Beaune Canal Tour There were a few sore heads as we left on our last ride of the tour. We headed off through the vineyards towards the canals and rode alongside them for many kilometres. There is no traffic, it s completely flat and very tranquil. It was however the hottest and most humid day we had on tour. On heading back, a few of us went to visit Chateau de Pommard for a tour of the ancient cellars and tasting. We caused quite a stir after our tour by being the first tourists there to swim in their fountain. That evening, and on the recommendation of our wine tour guide, we dined at the top restaurant in town and were treated to the finest in French cuisine. The rest of the evening was a total contrast. We headed back to Pickwick's Tavern and Rob Bessinger ran a fines session like no other, suffice to say at this point what goes on tour, stays on tour.
