Each of the 21 turns are marked to help cyclists count-down the 9 miles, and 3670ft of elevation difference, with an average slope of 7.9 %. Each day during the summer, an average of 1000 recreational and expert riders climb this mythical ascent together. Alpe d'Huez really is the Mecca of cycling, and the ascent to Alpe d'Huez is truely a once in a lifetime experience! The route After a warm-up on the straight roads of the Oisans valley, you reach the foot of the famous ascent of Alpe d'Huez. 10 minutes afterer crossing the starting line, you'll get to the heart of the matter... no more flat stretches. Starting from 737m, the first severe slope takes you to turn 21 (806 m) and continues with a fearful climb up to turn 17 at 965m. Once you've passed this bend, you can recover on the 200m gentle slope crossing the village of La Garde. At this point, the serious cyclist get a boost and pick up speed, while others huff and puff untill turn 15 (1025m) where the slope gets steeper again. Tour de France 1992 Etapa 14 Sestriere - L'Alpe D'Huez En la etapa anterior con llegada a Sestriere, Chiappucci habia realizado una de las mayores chaladuras de la historia del ciclismo, con una escapada de más de 220 kilometros que fue la tumba de las posibilidades de la mayoria de aspirantes al Tour. Hasta el propio Indurain estuvo a punto de sucumbir en el ultimo kilometro, victima de una pajara, pero consiguió perder apenas 2 minutos con Chiappucci y hacerse con el maillot amarillo. Bugno perdió casi 3 minutos, Delgado 8 minutos, Breukink 9, el lider Lino más de 10 minutos y el resto de figuras del peloton llegaron a perder autenticas minutadas, como LeMond y Leblanc que llegaron a 50 minutos. El peloton saldría al dia siguiente con 18 corredores menos. Pero los alpes no habián hecho más que empezar y todavia quedaba la etapa del siguiente dia, entre Sestriere y L'Alpe d'Huez. 186 kilometros en los que se habian de ascender el Montgenèvre, el Galibier, la Croix de Fer y finalmente L'Alpe d'Huez. Chiappucci perdia solo 1'46" con Indurain y era el único que podía arrebatarle el maillot amarillo a Indurain, pero tendría que ganar tiempo para poder afrontar la contrarreloj final de Blois con alguna posibilidad. Mientras, Bugno estaba a 4'20" de Indurain, pero habia reventado al final de la etapa y habia sido duramente criticado por la prensa italiana por haber intentando frustar la escapada de la etapa, mientras que Italia entera se dividia entre la rivalidad del Carrera ...

En 1979, elle rejoint la France où elle sera engagée comme choriste par un bon nombre de chanteurs et musiciens renommés (Eric Clapton, Céline Dion, Mylène Farmer, François Feldman, France Gall, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Johnny Hallyday, Thierry Hazard, Elton John, Julie Pietri, Michel Sardou, Michel Polnareff, Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine,). Avec ses amies Anne Calvert, Yvonne Jones, Joniece Jamison, Debbie Davis et Beckie Bell, Carole Fredericks restera une choriste très en vogue dans les années 1980 et 1990. In realtà per Varenne non intendiamo il fuoriclasse dell'allevamento italiano del trotto che ha spopolato per tre anni sulle piste mondiali. Per Varenne intendiamo un giornalista belga di espressione francese che il nostro Adriano tante volte menzionava nelle sue lunghe cronache. Luc Varenne era un telecronista ormai in età che venne richiamato dalla pensione per commentare alcune delle corse più importanti a metà degli anni Ottanta. Nella descrizione di questo Varenne, De Zan non immaginava certo che simile sorte sarebbe toccata anche a lui. Andato in pensione ha seguito, con un contratto di collaborazione Rai, quale voce numero 1 del ciclismo, tutte le corse più importanti fino al 2000. Con il Tour de France di quell'anno, quello rimasto famoso soprattutto per il ritorno alla vittoria di Pantani sul Mont Ventoux, viene riconosciuta ad Auro Bulbarelli, la meritata titolarità del ciclismo. Adriano De Zan segue ancora nella parte finale del 2000, il Giro di Spagna, il Mondiale di Plouay ed il Giro di Lombardia. Nel 2001 Adriano segue ancora per la Rai alcune corse minori, l'ultima delle quali un Gran Premio Industria e Commercio con vittoria di Bartoli. Cadel Lee Evans (born 14 February 1977) is an Australian professional racing cyclist and winner of the 2011 Tour de France. In early career, Evans was a champion mountain biker, winning the World Cup in 1998 and 1999 and placing seventh in the men's cross-country mountain bike race at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. Evans turned to full-time road cycling in 2001, and gradually progressed through ranks. He finished second in 2007 and 2008 Tours de France. He became the first Australian to win the UCI ProTour (2007) and the UCI Road World Championships in 2009. Finally, he won the Tour de France in 2011, riding for BMC Racing Team, after two Tours riddled with bad luck. At 34, he was among five oldest winners in the race's history.

Tour de France 2011 course has been announced today. With 3471 kilometres of racing, spread over 21 stages, including two time-trials, along the roads of 34 French departments, with a visit to Italy, the route of the Tour de France, unveiled at the Paris Convention Centre, is a journey through the midst of the country's cycling heartlands. These stages have the following profiles: 10 flat stages, 6 mountain stages and 4 summit finishes, 1 individual time-trial stage (41 km) and 1 team time-trial stage (23 km). Distinctive aspects of the race will see the legendary Galibier climbed twice and 23 category 2, 1 or highest level mountain passes or summit finishes. At the same time, computer networks cover larger and larger areas of the planet. Combining these two technological improvements is likely to give birth to new application fields such as the "internet of things" or the "ambient intelligence". However developing the innovative applications made possible by this new infrastructure is currently challenging. Firstly, because they are new and yet difficult to imagine. Secondly, because from a computer scientist perspective, suitable tools are lacking. To help face this problem, we have conceived the HOP programming language whose syntax and semantics are specially crafted for programming distributed "diffuse" applications. HOP is built on top of standard Web technologies, which it uses as the components of a virtual machine. This provides HOP with several assets such as portability, availability, and versatility. In order to demonstrate that HOP, and its SDK, can be used to program realistic applications, we have started to develop a number of diffuse HOP applications.
